I won’t go in depth describing the tweet but if anyone remembers the Seinfeld episode, “The Contest”, that should give you an idea. In his tweet, Vic was George Costanza and his brother was George’s mother. The described incident occurred several years before the aforementioned TV episode aired.
Methinks there's an invisible hand at work in this situation.
Suffice it to say he had a hand in his own demise.
Talk about being caught red-handed.

(The jokes just write themselves.)

So do you suppose his hand—or at least the palm—was covered with red hair? And if so was he able to see it? Jokes aside—somebody stop me—it was actually a tribute to his late brother for not outing him. From what I could tell it was in the context of a thread about mental illness. From what I can ascertain, Vic has little to no filter and he wears out his welcome. As I said before, Oaklawn probably wanted to get rid of him and this was their excuse. The tweet on it’s own is much ado about nothing.

I totally agree; the Oaklawn officials' reasoning is farcical. Stauffer deserves better.

I think I'll call it "Joke-Lawn" going forward.

I've now seen the substance of the tweet and wow, there must have been more going on. "My brother walked in on me having some personal fun and said "S'Okay kid, everyone does it."
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I just watched a race from Oaklawn. Jim Byers, Vic’s temporary replacement, is as Steady-Eddie as ever. I remember him from the ‘80’s at Hollywood Park. He’s very accurate but a little like having your morning oatmeal with no add-ins. Not at all bombastic, the Anti-Goof. I’m guessing even if Collmus gets the permanent Del Mar gig sooner than later, Oaklawn would fit his schedule. I’m a little surprised he isn’t doing it now since Byers is going to have a conflict come May. I’m guessing money but a guess is all it is.

I like your oatmeal analogy. Byer's call of the Azeri was good, but it made me think of an airplane pilot announcing your smooth landing at Dulles International and wishing you a pleasant weekend.

I never watched "Seinfield," so I have no idea what was in Vic's Tweet. :?
I will try to keep it as PG as possible but yeah it is what it is.
The episode is about them trying to see who could last the longest without pleasuring themself. And when George loses, his mom walks in during the deed.
Actually his mom caught him at the start of the episode, that sparked the conversation when George said "I'm never doing that again."

Elaine: "You mean in your mother's house or altogether?"

The hospital scene with Estelle Harris is one of the funniest scenes, when she says to unemployed George "too bad you can't do that for a living. You'd be very good at. You could sell out Madison Square Garden. You could be a big star!"
"Your horse can get beaten by 20 lengths and they still pay you? And you've been losing money all these years?"

Vic himself swears there was nothing more to it so beyond calling him a liar……..Still, I’d like to be in the room with him as he says it to see if his nose grows exponentially.

Goof on the Roof doing an interim stint at Lone Star park then says he wants to be a track steward, a role he has held in the past. https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/ ... r_Park_123

Yes I thought about putting this under a new thread titled, “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!” Announcing at Lone Star is kinda like channeling that metaphorical tree that falls alone in the forest. Will Goof make a sound if nobody can hear him?

After being locked inside during pandemic and doing virtually nothing except EATING ICE CREAM. I weighed in at 383lbs. This morning I was 283. Goal is 250 in time for the start of High School Basketball season! Let's GO!
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I lost weight during the pandemic but my mother always told me I was special. My wife was laid up at the time so I was in charge of the kitchen. If Goof wants to hire me as a personal chef, I could probably take care of the rest of that weight.
