2020 Arkansas Derby winner Nadal is represented by his first crop of 2-year-olds.

Graduates of Chiba Thoroughbred Sale are running well. Bellagio Opera by Lord Kanaloa won the Osaka Hai (G1) at Hanshin March 31 and was bought by Shorai Hayashida at this sale in 2022 for ¥44.1 million (US$337,543).

2024 Chiba Thoroughbred Sale of 2-Year-Olds was held today at Funabashi Racecourse.

Sale topper was hip 33 Nadal filly o/o Skratta(JPN)(King Kamehameha) who was sold for ¥121,000,000.
Skratta is a 1/2 sister to G3 winner Ho O Emmy's(JPN) and also a full sister to Emmy's Pride(JPN), the dam of UAE Derby winner Crown Pride(JPN).

Also, it was interesting that Repole Stable purchased Hip 3 Orfevre filly(JPN) o/o Unlimited Budget(USA) by Street Sense(USA) for ¥33,000,000.

We bought this filly by champion Orfevre out of my former multiple graded stakes winning mare Unlimited Budget for 33 million yen at the Chiba Thoroughbred Sale.

Will this filly ship to the US????

Some of Mr Repole's comments on bloodhorse also caught my eyes.

Repole said the Chiba sale purchase was facilitated by Pat Cummings and Alex Solis II.

"I've been so impressed with the Japanese breed," Repole told BloodHorse. "I actually bought some Deep Impact mares last year. Obviously I raced the mare Unlimited Budget, so that was a big factor. I also like the sire."

Repole said he has no problem with the Japanese buying American mares, "as long as we have the ability to buy mares in Japan for the U.S."

"I would love to trade some of my mares for some Japanese mares. I want to buy more Japanese horses.

I would like to believe that this is just the beginning, haha!
And I can't to wait to see this Orfevre filly race in the US!!!
