I love this horse. I don’t envy the gate crew at Saratoga this Saturday, though.

Chance Moquett @chancemoquett
For those wondering, Whitmore schooled in the gates this morning like a perfect gentleman and does not understand why we asked him to practice this task.

Unless retirement gives him an attitude readjustment, I don't think he is going to be anyone's laid-back saddle horse. Think he will just be a Shadwell pasture "pet."

Yeah, he was a maniac in his younger days, but even as he matured I don’t think he was ever truly the laid back type. I would guess he gets turned out for the fall/winter and they’ll see how he lets down next spring. He might be a horse that needs a job, but can’t be a novice’s family pet. Maybe an exercise rider would be willing to take him. Worst comes to worst he’ll be a lawn ornament at Shadwell.

Diodoro is dirty and the runner-up is trained by the son of John Servis, which makes him Jason Servis's nephew.

I don't think I've seen much "guilt by association" chatter surrounding John Servis himself, who is Jason's brother. Why should it be applied to John's son? Just curious.
