Three time Grade 1 winner over hurdles and chases, Thyme Hill after an injury on the gallops. I’m genuinely gutted, he was such a lovely horse and I was really excited to see how he progressed this season :(

11 year old Field of Courage broke down in the last race tonight at Mountaineer, after a 1 year, 3 month layoff.
Former stakes horse for Mark Casse that fell down the claiming ranks.

A good article about her from RacingPost. A tremendous broodmare and well-loved by her people.

G1P-G2W mare Longport (Casino Prince) died some time after foaling a colt by Bivouc. No C.O.D stated in the article.

Another mare named Roselyne (Dariyan) voluntarily adopted her colt. Her own foal is a colt by Siyouni.

Roselyne is back i/f to I Am Invincible.

1995 Champion Sprinter Not Surprising died earlier this year aged 33.

BEHIND THE SILKS: JUD VAN WORP TALKS 1995 ECLIPSE AWARD WINNER NOT SURPRISING
https://floridahorsemen.org/behind-silk ... urprising/

He had obviously lost a few steps, so we put him out to the farm where he lived until this year when he died.

for whatever reason the date doesn't show up in the article itself but when you Google it, it's dated July 4th.

Its great if he lived to such an old age but I think that article is old. Cause in the article it says the US is celebrating its 241st Independence Day and that would have been... 2017?

Yeah its from 2017. I see what you do though if you Google the article is does say 2023. But the post on their Facebook page with a photo is from July 4, 2017. https://www.facebook.com/FloridaHorseme ... gUuxnBRSxl

MG1p Cross Border and Tazawako, a Japanese-bred daughter of California Chrome.

Cross Border dies of apparent cardiac arrest; Endorsed has successful surgery

Cross Border was having a route gallop this morning when it appeared he had heart failure,” Maker siad. “He was a horse who never had an issue and just loved his job. It’s crushing. Gut-wrenching for all of us".
Maker also reported that he lost another member of his stable Wednesday evening at Turfway Park when Tazawako had to be euthanized after rearing in the starting gate and striking his head prior to the start of the final race on the card.

Oh God what a warrior cross border was rip. Sad for all the connections. Importing a horse just for them to flip and do something like that. Sad day

The Chrome fans are particularly angry over Tazawako. I've seen people blaming her death on greed and the fact that "she was rushed to race at two"..I don't agree there's anyone to blame in the situation. Unfortunately gate accidents happen..some of the worst gate freak outs I've seen have happened to three year olds..Quality Road and the filly who flipped in the gate in front of me at the Kentucky Oaks in 2014 and was scratched.

I'm surprised there wasn't an announcement, too, and I don't know why they were silent.
But I'm 100% sure that she was loved by the people at Teruya Yoshida's Shadai Farm.
Teruya has left his own statement on her passing in the link below.
https://keiba.sponichi.co.jp/news/20231 ... 000130000c

And I myself was always a big fan of Danedream, too.
Here below are some picks I took at Tokyo Racecourse twelve years ago.
She was such a lovely and brave mare.
