Standardbreds often have the farm/breeder name included in their names, and many farms have the name of some famous stallion (like Hanover) in their name.

People more familiar with standardbreds: why is gray so apparently rare for them?
Probably a similar reason to why there aren't many Thoroughbred grey horses in the Southern Hemisphere. We have had champion super stallions like Zabeel and Danehill and their sire sons being mostly bay dominant and nothing like Tapit down here (with a minor exception for Reliable Man) the grey is mostly bred out of them.
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing

RugbyGirl so I'm trying to find out about the following stallions who stood in Australia and NZ. I've tried the Studbooks, Thoroughbredvillage forum, racing.com, racingmuseum australia, and nzthoroughbred.co.nz all with no joy. So hoping you can help. I'm a small owner/breeder in England and doing some research on old pedigrees. What I'll like to know is when these stallions died and if known what of, also their height.

I admit that I know very little about Standardbreds, but Greyhound is the only grey one I've ever heard of, and he was a gelding. If he had been left entire and gone to stud, there might be more greys out there now. Or not.

My point was that it went from 0-fer to a 75% win rate.

Oh of course. Given Storm Cat's influence on the breed, it was bound to change.

True. I’ll be surprised if he’s not in the pedigree of this year’s winner.

this is a Shetland but might be one of the worst cases of inbreeding i've ever seen - https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/michigans+hart+breaker. if you look into his progeny a lot of them are also inbred in some way, majority very heavily inbred. disgusting

Full sister? Yikes. I hope they keep her away from her brother (and sire, for that matter).

Like someone said on Reddit, it’s not a family tree, it’s a wreath.

were they trying to create a 7 legged horse with 3 heads and 18 eyes?
