Really, is that normal for a horse's forehead to look like that? I'm not sure but what I've never seen a full-front headshot before where the horse had no forelock (non-existent or just hidden). I've never seen that before, or at least I didn't notice it.

Just curious. Doubt it's any cause for concern.

It’s normal, not all horses have it as “ meaty”.

Handsome fellow. Does he still not have a stud deal? I'm sure there are some sporthorse breeders here in the US who would love to have him if nobody in Europe wants him lol.

No he doesn't or none that has been talked about. I assumed he would go to be a National Hunt stallion cause flat breeders don't even like to use stallions who are best at 12f.

Anything is possible. But I really think he'll be a National Hunt sire, that seems like where all the long distance horses end up.

The kind of sad thing about Strad ending up as a NH sire like Yeats is that most of their male offspring will end up being gelded. Not many intact horses competing in hurdles and steeplechase. Their bloodline will likely only continue as broodmare sires.
And that is wrong on so many levels, because imho both Stradivarius and Yeats are great horses. Their genes should be coveted, not damned with faint praise (career as a NH stud).

Aside from being a phenomenal stayer, Stradivarius sadly would be rather unfashionable as a NH sire.
It isn’t universal (and frankly is sensibly ignored by smart breeders!) but there is definitely more prejudice in NH against chestnuts and horses with white legs. And if you have to sell, breeders have to consider such fashions. Additionally, Stradivarius isn’t a big horse, and there’s generally a preference for big, rangy horses for NH.
I think this has counted against him getting a stud deal so far sadly.
I don’t think either objection (his colour or his size) is particularly valid but they do factor into sales ring fashions and that in turn factors into demand whether breeders or stallion masters share those prejudices or not.
Personally, I’d LOVE to see him supported well, but I have a suspicion he’ll be more appreciated overseas (Japan, or Germany perhaps). And I think it’ll be our loss that we rue for quite some time. A horse capable of performing in Group 1 races year after year, demonstrating remarkable durability and, for all he likes to show off and shout, a fabulous temperament. He’s EXACTLY the sort of sire the breed needs. But I fear he’ll get fewer mares here than some flashy colt retired at the end of his 2-year old season, and therein lies the issue.
I’d love Newsells Park Stud to get him. Look at what they’ve done with Nathaniel.

I didn't know NH was against chestnut horses, that is pretty weird. Isn't Schiaparelli a NH stallion? He may be a bigger horse, idk how tall he is compared to Stradivarius.

Since you mentioned Nathaniel, I recently read an article about him saying he is getting about 1/2 NH mares because breeders view him as a fillies sire and that his progeny's average winning distance of ~12f. https://theownerbreeder.com/columns/des ... lat-ranks/

It's 2022 have we seriously not moved beyond the superstition against white legs?
