I stand corrected, Midnight Bisou goes to Katsumi Yoshida

I have to assume a Yoshida will also take Dreamloper home too

... yup! She goes to Katsumi Yoshida as well. At least they can keep each other company on the flight over.

That really surprises me, its not often Katsumi Yoshida goes that high. I think Katsumi picked up 8 total so far between the 2 sales and Haruya bought one as well. Plus add in all the other Japanese purchases and they'll have a plane full.

What a bummer. I know Midnight Bisou will be so well taken care of, but I was excited to watch her foals run in the US. She does have a 2022 Curlin colt that I assume will stay stateside.

I agree. I don’t usually care about mares being sold overseas, but I’m sad we won’t get to see all of her babies here. She sure is a pretty mare.

It was a Curlin/Love The Chase colt. 1/2 to Chrome.
Makes more sense, thanks.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Into Mischief colt from Munnings family sells for 1 million. Am unfamiliar with the buyer. Wonder who the underbidder was? https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/ ... e_sale_123

CHC, the other partner in the horse, was the underbidder. Gandharvi is new to racing and are racing in Singapore, Australia the US and have one horse in Europe(this one I imagine will be sold as they were partnered with CHC). They are partners in Battle Bling who won the Turnback the Alarm H(G3) recently. They had bought into her before she ran in the La Troienne(G1) in May. The owner also said he is partnered on Aloha West. All the yearlings they bought in 2021 in the US were partnered with CHC . That was why the 2yos were in the sale, to dissolve the partnership. In 2022 they have bought horses with various partnerships or just by themselves.

Here are a couple interviews with Kuldeep Singh Rajput, owner of Gandharvi.

Thanks for the information. Why are they dissolving the partnership- he seemed to speak so highly of CHC in the first article.

No clue. They rarely say why partnerships are being dissolved. To me the weirdest part was, they were selling 11 unnamed 2yos and it looks like none had ever posted a workout. The one sold for 7k.

Yes- and what will happen to them now? Bob not interested in keeping horses in his barn who can’t compete at the Gr1/2 level.

will probably be moved to another trainer. they used to send all their not-so-good horses to Brisset, but now he usually trains their third string. they mainly use Yakteen (second string) and Brittany Russell (fourth string). they also seem to be using Walsh, Terranova and Jonathan Thomas for a few horses.

just checking through the Starlight website now:
Andros → Yakteen
Clooney → Yakteen
Doppelganger → Russell
Gilmore → Baffert
Hopkins → Baffert
Massimo → Baffert
Mauritius → Russell
McLaren Vale → Brisset
Nullarbor → Baffert
Quincy Market → Yakteen
Rhetoric → Baffert
Rockefeller → Baffert
Savile Row → Yakteen
Spielberg → Thomas

Speedy Politi is no longer on the website; i assume he has been retired. he only ever worked in September this year (4x) and is now listed as a gelding.
Classier has no trainer listed.
