War Like Goddess has scratched out of the Bewitch. Does anyone know why?

Small laceration after kicking herself this morning. Should be fine, but bad timing.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 3:50 pm War Like Goddess has scratched out of the Bewitch. Does anyone know why?

Glad to see her return to winning do well. Got a dream trip up the rail and a great ride, but was much the best.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:47 pm Hoosier Philly wins the 1-mile Dig A Diamond Stakes at Oaklawn, with Absinthe 2nd.

The 1-mile G3 Royal Heroine at Santa Anita was won by an up-the-rail Uncorked (Pierro), ridden by Frankie Dettori. I really appreciate the way Frankie rides...he got Uncorked to kick to an open length win without whipping the **** out of her. He has a strong hand ride coming to a wire, and manages to get so much out of his runners without coming close to breaking the whip rules.

I think that's the effect that multiple whip bans can have on a guy. But hey, it looks like they work.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 8:20 pm The 1-mile G3 Royal Heroine at Santa Anita was won by an up-the-rail Uncorked (Pierro), ridden by Frankie Dettori. He got a 16 day whip ban after Champion's Day last year at Ascot, forcing him to miss the Melbourne Cup. He also got an 8 day whip ban after Royal Ascot last year, forcing him to miss the July Cup. He also famously hit Rewilding 24 times in the final two furlongs on their way to winning the 2012 Prince of Wales' Stakes, there was another whip ban that came from that.
(he is still one of my favourite jockeys, but he's not perfect)

I swear its all for social media attention. I'm sure if there isn't already a tweet saying, "What do you guys think about my plan?" there will be shortly. He appears to thrive on attention.brunanas wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 1:03 pm John Stewart declares bold plan to race on with Imperatriz

Well, he’s given himself another out by saying his budget is $6m. I think she will go for more than that, so hopefully she can stay retired. She’s done plenty.Flanders wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 1:27 pmI swear its all for social media attention. Speighter Woman, 2021 f (Speightster - Pajama Bottom, by Include) recently ran 2nd in a Maiden. She made some new friends at CD after the kids from I Would Rather Be Reading read books to Michelle Lovell's horses.
