That's so sad he won't get a chance to see how Resilience does.. He was my pick in a few contests for the Wood.
I really loved Life Is Sweet and they always picked good trainers like Mott and Shirreffs for their horses. Unfortunately Sweet Catomine ran during Winning Colors time and Life is Sweet during Zenyatta's time and that made their job a lot harder.

Hope Resilience makes him proud.
Sorry MSD, but I have to correct you on one thing. Sweet Catomine (2002) was 17 years younger than Winning Colors (1985). Sweet Catomine's career basically ended after her failed attempt at the Santa Anita Derby in 2005 and when a related scandal erupted involving her trainer Julio Canani. The Wygods fired Canani, but I don't think Sweet Catomine ever ran again.

I was saddened by the Marty Wygod news as well. I always had so much respect for him and Pam, and felt kind of bad when they felt the need to basically move their operation out of California. My all-time favorite horse of theirs was Tranquility Lake. I loved that mare!

Oh, and I'm rooting for Resilience too!😊

@Missbeholder @Flanders

Thanks for the correction about Miss Catomine. I got the years mixed up for sure.

( I posted that after Flanders corrected me but I can't find my post anywhere now, must have hit the wrong button)

I was taking a look at the program but Saturday and noticed his debut. Geez. He's running again race 3. Really impressive.

Knightsbridge, off two impressive wins, has an injury that will keep him out through the summer, trainer Bill Mott said.

Bummer that Knightsbridge is injured :(

Also
Glengarry, winner of the Lafayette Stakes at Keeneland last month, had a few minor issues that prevented trainer Doug Anderson from entering him.

Well, that's a bummer about Knightsbridge and Glengarry. The race just got a lot less interesting.

Change of plans for Mugatu, who didn't draw into the Kentucky Derby. He is now pointing to the $100k Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth next Saturday, not the Peter Pan, per trainer Jeff Engler

I hope he stays sound too. His maiden race was so impressive and I really hope he can return to the same level.

I am indeed rooting for First World War and Trikari. FWW is my favorite though.

Big ask off a huge layoff and his biggest win stemming from a pace meltdown. I wonder if his owner will have another public hissy fit if the horse gets a low Beyer.

Cugino (Twirling Candy x Adorable Miss [Kitten's Joy]) wins the Audubon Stakes at Churchill. That is the 2nd stakes win today for the Twirling Candy over Kitten's Joy cross after Twirling Point's win in the Jersey Derby.
Did anyone ever think that the quirky, blow-the-turns Twirling Candy was going to end up Candy Ride's best sire son after Gun Runner?
