Santa Anita Park stewards March 17 fined owner/trainer Steve Knapp $1,000 and suspended him for 15 days from April 1-15 for violating California's training soundness rules after one of his unraced horses, Truest of True, had a fatal injury Jan. 18.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Just checked Equibase, and Flavien Prat now sits on top of the national jockey leaderboard in earnings with approximately $1.6M more than Irad! Of course, he helped his cause along with a very lucrative day yesterday sweeping the Fair Grounds Oaks and the Louisiana Derby.

And he's done it with only 166 mounts compared to Irad's 380. I know the year is still young, and this is very likely to change, but I think it's pretty cool!🤗

Levothyroxine Found in Diodoro Barn at Oaklawn Park
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... klawn-park

Robertino Diodoro, currently second in the Oaklawn Park trainer standings, has been cited for possession of the banned substance levothyroxine and faces up to a two-year suspension.

Diodoro has been summarily suspended until the case has been reviewed by HIWU's Internal Adjunction Panel and then by a federal administrative law judge.

Oaklawn Park president Louis Cella told BloodHorse that the substance was uncovered during a routine inspection of Diodoro's barn at the Hot Springs, Ark., track. Upon discovering the levothyroxine, Diodoro was told to leave the Oaklawn premises immediately and that all of the trainer's horses stabled at the track would need to be removed from the property as of March 31.

In recent cases adjudicated and posted on the HIWU website, trainers found in violation for levothyroxine have been issued lengthy suspensions, ranging from 14 months to two years. The most serious of these penalties was given to trainer Natalia Lynch, who was issued a two-year suspension and $25,000 fine last July when found in possession of levothyroxine in the form of Thyro-L.

Diodoro? No way! Next you'll tell me that Jamie Ness is up to no good.

(Diodoro had a 20-1 stakes winner today, owned by his layer, because the racing gods love nothing more than irony).

I’m not sure I know what a “layer” is nor should I enquire having been a married man for near 30 years.😉

I can bet a Baffert or a Miller but Diodoro I just can’t.

This week was the one-year anniversary of my brother-in-law's death, and I've spent it miserably in bed with covid. A single typo feels like a win at this point.

Can’t stand him. Another black cloud in this industry.
