being reminded abt how awful the "quarantining" has been, how long i've been separated from my overseas family, and how many ppl i watched spiral into depression (myself included)...

yeah. i get it and it makes sense, etc etc. doesn't make it less horrible.
thankfully this is a subjective thread.

I agree- Sea Tour would have been so much nicer. On a related notes, McLain Ward’s horse in the Olympic show jumping team final is named Contagious.

I guess as an introvert I just don't find the isolation hard to bear, so the term "quarantine" doesn't upset me! :D
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

The pandemic-related names started popping up last fall. Remember the equine Fauci? I've also seen Specatorless, No Masks, Six Feet Apart and several others in the entries here and abroad. We probably haven't see the last of them.

One of the most cryptic names I've seen ever. No clue in the breeding. I'll bet there's a good story behind the name, too bad we'll probably never find out.

Reminds me of Chicken Run, the old Aardman claymation movie with Mel Gibson as the chicken that helps them escape the evil chicken farm.

Stoney Hollow Stables just rehomed a BEAUTIFUL filly from Indiana Grand. Her name is “Sexy Pork Chop”. I’d have to rename her quickly! I read it and thought wth

"Herd Immunity" is another. Introvert that I am, I admit that I pretty much staked my sanity on my (rescheduled) safari to Africa coming off successfully in June!

Yeah, I listed her back in April, but under amusing names. Thought she was right on the cusp!

Strong Odor
won the 4th at Saratoga today, a 5 1/2-furlong grass AOC for F&M 3yo+up. $105,000 purse. :D
Her time of 1:01.97 was close to the track record, if I heard correctly.

I don't often post here, but I do lurk, and I remembered reading about Strong Odor. So when I saw she was running at Saratoga, I just had to watch. I especially liked the fact that Andy Serling said she had absolutely no chance to win the race, and then she did. Good for her, and thanks to all who mentioned her, good name or horrible one. I agree: it's on the cusp.

Hoof Hearted has always made me wonder how it got past the Jockey Club. Say it fast 3 times and you’ll see what I mean.

If you intentionally pronounce hoof as "huff" it ruins their joke.

I've always pronounced it with the short "oo" -- as in "look" -- rather than the long one -- as in "hoop." Might be a regional thing, although I do pronounce "hooves" with a long "oo," as does everyone else I've ever heard say the word.
