The owners are Glen Hill Farm and Craig Bernick wrote a tweet about the name a couple of years ago because Jockey Club had declined it initially though they had accepted a Catholic Guilt before. Bernick is Jewish I believe. He was referring to what mothers of all faiths do to their children.

Leonard Lavin was Jewish - is Craig Bernick related to him?

I know what Jewish Guilt is - it’s kind of a thing that everyone refers to, and I’ve never had any issue with that. Since the owners are Jewish, I find it hilarious

I am Jewish and can relate to this well- does not bother me at all- had a good chuckle. Earlier there was another horse named Hadassah which is a Jewish name but also a Jewish charity organization that my Grandma belonged to and was very active in into her 90’s.

I miss the days of Jerry Seinfeld when Jewish Humor was alive and well while being piped into most every living room in America.

I also miss the fact that Major League Baseball no longer has a disabled list for injured players, but I digress.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Me too! When I have a stressful day at work I can usually find a good Kramer or George clip on YouTube to make me laugh.

I love the name as long as the owner is Jewish. I don’t offend easily, but since there is so much anti-semitism out there, I guess I’m a bit sensitive to stuff like this. I can just imagine her foals names, lol

Then you don't get this at all. The freedom to draw mirth out of the truths that underpin cultural stereotypes cannot exist without the freedom of others to laugh with you.

My friends eight year old daughter is named Hadassah. We call her Haddie. She's the youngest and has six older siblings. Her siblings are named things like Shiloh, calliope (Callie), Amadeus, Isaiah, jubilee

Owned by Glen Hill Farms, so Craig Bernick. Glen Hill Farm was originally owned by Craig's grandfather Leonard Lavin.

I also am Jewish and don't mind the name. The only problem I can see others having with it -- and I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet; maybe it's something of an elephant in the room among gentiles -- is the "guilt" for the crucifixion of Jesus ascribed to Judas, Herod, etc., and by extension the entire Jewish people by many Christians.

I want to make it clear that I love the name because I know it's not about the "guilt" regarding the crucifixion; Jewish guilt has become something of a funny meme. It would just seem extremely odd to me that non-Jewish owners would even think about naming a horse ...but of course, that's not the case here. Jewish owners, as in this case, would never name their horse this if it had to do with perceived guilt over Jesus' fate.........One reason I have a huge problem with non-Jewish owners using this name is because of anti-semitism; how would I know that these owners weren't trying to make a statement ? That's probably why the Jockey Club denied permission to use the name ,initially.

As a traveller it makes perfect sense to me, I don't see the problem. I "get" it.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.
