I realize he must be named after the mountain as his second dam is Quest to Peak, but "jungfrau" actually means young woman, maiden, or virgin.
Jungfrau is a region in Switzerland, which is in the Alps. So I don't think you were far off with the mountain guess.
Yes, I know--it's actually a peak in the same range as the Eiger. I've taken the train to the Jungfraujoch station--11,332 feet passing through ice caves! (Or at least there were ice caves in the 1980's :( )
The Jungfrau sits next to the Monch and Eiger mountains. Monch means Monk and Eiger means Ogre. The story is that the monk is protecting the young maiden from the ogre.

Sorry, I just love stories behind names !

Mikki Gorgeous(JPN), 2020F. Mikki Rocket(JPN) x Mikki Queen(JPN), won her debut in 5 lengths at Kokura 5R 2000m turf on Feb 19th 2023.
Like her sire and her dam, she is owned by Mizuki Noda!
And this Mikki has a gorgeous pedigree.

I’m surprised no one has shared it here!

She’s the first foal out of G1W Pretty City Dancer.

Illustrated (Justify/Appealing Zophie) finally makes his debut next Saturday at GP in R4. Coolmore and partners paid $1.1m for the 1/2 to Tapwrit at the FT 2YO sale.

Another expensive 2YO purchase from last year is also making a belated debut next Saturday in R7 at FG. Rule Breaker (Into Mischief/Artemis Agrotera). He went for $1m at OBS March to a large ownership group that includes Spendthrift and his breeders, the Bromans.

Mystic Lore (Arrogate/Folklore) just missed in a maiden race at Nakayama after a bad trip. I hope he will wind up being a nice one.

I missed that Godolphin purchased Tranquil Lady (Australia X Repose, by Quiet American) for 2,700,000gns at Tatts last December. The four year old filly is half to State of Rest. Tranquil Lady made her debut for Godolphin and Charlie Appleby at Meydan on Friday in the Group 2 Balanchine... and finished last of 8.

Hopefully she finds improvement, but either way she'll be a great broodmare prospect. The family got a huge vote of confidence when Juddmonte privately purchased Repose in May of 2022.

Love this!
Me too -- all of it is great: Out of a Gamely winner; one of the last foals of Deep Impact; ridden by the ageless Yutaka Take...
Shadai Racehorse announced today that Light Quantum would run next in the G1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas).
Yutaka Take will retain the mount.
