Wonder if they are going to the lead?

Question of the day, I think. Honestly, the pace of the Derby will either be suicidal or people will think it will be and not a single soul will go with Dornoch

I saw on DRF that T O Password's trainer sees his horse sitting midpack, which is realistic. He led in his first two starts, but gunning to challenge American speed just isn't a recipe for success here.
Encino scratching removes some speed, Epic Ride drawing in adds some speed. Pretty much a wash from a race shape perspective.

Nice read on Dornoch and other pairs of siblings who have run in the derby.

Oh that is good to know. I have been really drawn to him and I really like his jockey so he may be my longshot play. I assume most people will write him off so his odds will be really high.

If you are a Forever Young fan, this may be a perk!

Obviously Fierceness no longer in post 17 is a talking point, but #11 Forever Young a big winner here, as he now is in post 10, which means he is the last to load instead of the first.

He will also be starting from the same post as Sunday Silence, from what I hear. Good juju occurring.

Aww. I was a fan too, he was really tall and narrow when he raced. Looks like he filled out.

Godolphin doesn’t seem to have Derby luck. Encino out with an injury. Was First Mission scratched last year, I can’t remember. I know Maxfield was off the trail in his Derby year.

Great stuff, thanks for posting it! I really don't have any horses I'm fervently rooting for this year (maybe Fierceness, as my consolation Forte), but West Saratoga and Resilience are both so likeable.
