Saratoga is almost here Chad Brown says it looks like 2016 Curlin winner Connect will have to be retired.

From what a video clip accessible from the above twitter link says, Connect's injury was minor but there isn't enough time to bring him back before the end of the year, hence the decision to retire the horse.

The boy had two big money yearlings at FT Saratoga yesterday! $1 million and $750k. I'm on my phone so not great at pulling up the info, but very exciting stuff.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

I didn't realize this at the time, but both the winner and place horse of the Breeders Cup Juvenile were Curlins!

Kudos to Good Magic (who broke his maiden with the win) and Solomini for giving their papa a great showing.

Good Magic is Curlin x Glinda the Good Witch, by Hard Spun. Am I the only one who can't believe a Hard Spun grandbaby could be racing right now? Holy crap, time flies.

The mare's name is just Glinda the Good, though she was a good witch. ;-) She was in his first crop. Great name for this colt.

Just an FYI-
Room For Me had a Curlin colt on 1/25- and the year before had a filly by him

Mom is a daughter of Harlington so she if from Serena's Song's line
Winner of the Regret and Garland of Roses stakes, Graded Stakes placed- 2nd to La Verdad in the G3 Vagrancy by 1/2 and 3rd in the G1 Ballerina to Unbridled Forever and Kiss to Remember
He's a very calm and sure of himself type- if you are a Winstar Stablemate- there is a cool video of his first day out.

Curlin Elevates His Classic Profile

With four sons on the Derby trail, 2018 is sire's best chance to date.

Resurrecting this thread.....

Vino Rosso atoned for his DQ in the JCGC with a win in the Breeders Cup Classic yesterday. Thanks to Vino Rosso's win, Curlin became the second stallion to win and sire a winner of the Classic (the first being Awesome Again/Ghostzapper).
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... up-classic

Building on that success, Curlin's son Palace Malice sired his first (of many, hopefully) Breeders Cup winners when his son Structor won the Juvenile Turf division. Palace Malice currently sits 3rd on the Leading 1st Crop Sires list behind American Pharoah and Constitution.

Curlin is 2nd on the General Sires list, behind only Into Mischief.

Forgot to mention that Curlin also sired the Exacta in the Gr.3 Chilukki on 11/2 at Churchill going a mile on the dirt.

Sally's Curlin (o/o Cabo Queen/More Than Ready) won by 3/4 lengths over Mylady Curlin (o/o Ladyledue/Slewdledo).

Just realized that our boy sired the trifecta in the gr.2 Demoiselle at Aqueduct over the weekend. Huzzah!
